Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
Synopsis:
When Tess Durbeyfield is driven by family poverty to claim kinship with the wealthy D'Urbervilles and seek a portion of their family fortune, meeting her 'cousin' Alec proves to be her downfall. A very different man, Angel Clare, seems to offer her love and salvation, but Tess must choose whether to reveal her past or remain silent in the hope of a peaceful future.
Review:
I enjoyed the story but there was a lot of waffling in it. A lot that didn't enhance the story and seemed to drag on a little. as a classic story I had to read it and I am glad I did butbits wasn't one I would read again.
I do recommend the book if you have nothing else to read but I can only give is 3/5
